Zahra's School of Middle Eastern Dance specializes in everything belly dance, including belly dance classes, costumes, jewelry and music.
Belly dance is a form of performing art, with its graceful hip movements, rolls, and leg movements. The dance allows us to utilize muscle groups in the stomach, pelvis, arms, neck and spine and also allows us to work with the body instead of against it. Unlike different dance forms, belly dancingallows women to embrace movements that come naturally to the female form. There is a wealth of health benefits to those who practice this form of dance, such as:
♦ Improved Muscle & Posture – the repetitive movement of hip movements, figure eights and shimmies helps increase the flow of fluid into the joints. With strengthened stomach muscles improved posture can prevent back pain
♦ Defines Arms, Shoulders and the Core – constant arm lifts allow toning of the muscles in the arms and shoulders. Movements allow you to strengthen your core. You will notice that these areas will be more defined as you continue the dance classes
